Breastfeeding Support = Pleasant Experience

Your baby is meant to breastfeed. Your milk is always the correct temperature and provides exactly what your baby needs to grow and thrive. Usually breastfeeding is easy and fun. Occasionally a mom and baby will need some extra help. Our nurse, Sherry Pikul is a Certified Lactation Counselor who has assisted many mothers and babies with breastfeeding. Please give us a call at 585-0752 if you are experiencing any difficulty.

Breastfeeding has so many health benefits for mother and babies and the longer you nurse the better the benefits. Babies should only eat mother's milk for the first 6 months of life. After that, if they are interested, they can eat other foods but should continue to nurse for at least the full first year of life. A minimum of 12 months of nursing has shown to have life-long benefits for babies. Furthermore, many mothers and babies enjoy nursing well into toddlerhood.

Remember, babies are born to nurse. If you are struggling at any point in your nursing relationship, give us a call (585-0752) and schedule a home or office visit.
